“On the first day of the special session in Parliament, Congress President and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, took a humorous jab at the government, referring to the recent G20 Summit as the ‘G2 Summit.’ He quipped that the zero in ‘G20’ had been obscured by a ‘lotus,’ the election symbol of the BJP, implying political interference in international affairs.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar promptly corrected Kharge, noting that it was indeed the ‘G20 Summit.’ Kharge, in response, humorously remarked, ‘The zero was covered with a lotus,’ alluding to the ruling party’s symbol.
In retaliation, the BJP seized the opportunity to mention the 2G spectrum scam that occurred during the Congress government’s tenure. Union Minister Piyush Goyal remarked, ‘He sees only 2G, One G, and Son G,’ a subtle reference to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
This exchange occurred during the special session of Parliament, which commenced amid speculation about potential surprises from the government during the five-day sitting. The session includes discussions on Parliament’s 75-year journey and the transition of House proceedings to the new building, scheduled for Ganesh Chaturthi.”
