“Surprising Fact: Nayanthara Turned Down a Shah Rukh Khan Film Before ‘Jawan,’ which Later Became a Blockbuster Earning Over 200 Crores at the Indian Box Office”

“While ‘Jawan’ generates buzz ahead of its release, did you know Nayanthara had declined a film with Shah Rukh Khan before?

The pairing of Nayanthara and SRK has garnered immense love and admiration from the audience. It marks their first on-screen collaboration, but this dynamic duo could have shared the screen years ago if she had accepted a certain movie.

We’re talking about the 2013 blockbuster ‘Chennai Express.’ In a surprising twist, Nayanthara wasn’t offered the female lead role in Rohit Shetty’s directorial but the opportunity to perform in the dance number ‘One Two Three Four’ from the film. Deepika Padukone eventually played the female lead, as Nayanthara subtly declined the offer to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan for undisclosed reasons. Priyamani ended up dancing alongside SRK in the movie, which went on to earn over 200 crores at the Indian box office.

Interestingly, Priyamani will also be part of ‘Jawan‘ alongside Nayanthara, Shah Rukh Khan, and others. Deepika Padukone makes a cameo appearance in the film as well. The audience is eagerly anticipating the fresh pairing of SRK and Nayanthara after their appearance in the song ‘Chaleya.’ ‘Jawan’ has already sold over 10 lakh tickets, surpassing ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Gadar 2,’ as reported.

Recently, Shah Rukh Khan shared his experience of working with Nayanthara on his Twitter (now X) handle during an AskSRK session, describing her as “lovely, too sweet, and awesome to work with. A pleasure. #Jawan.” He also commented on the overall shoot for ‘Jawan,’ calling it “hectic and fun” while working with Atlee Vijay, Nayan, and the entire cast.

Although they didn’t share the screen in ‘Chennai Express,’ fans are eagerly awaiting SRK and Nayanthara’s on-screen chemistry in ‘Jawan,’ set to release on September 7, 2023.
